Miss America 2027 Regan Hutsell brought a message rooted in Psalm 139 to young women struggling to feel at home in their bodies. “You truly have been perfectly crafted and created so beautifully, so intricately, so wonderfully,” she told Liberty University earlier this month.

Regan Hutsell has been a Rockette, a ballet dancer and now Miss America. “Dance taught me how to be adaptable without changing the essence of who I am,” she said.

The crown is the least interesting thing about Regan Hutsell. The 25-year-old Texan was crowned Miss America 2027 last month — the 99th woman to hold the title, the first woman of color to win wearing her natural hair. Before that she was a Radio City Rockette.

After one of the most challenging seasons of her life, Liberty University student Regan Hutsell was recently crowned the new Miss America and is now using her platform to encourage others to pursue their goals. On Sept. 6, Hutsell, competing as Miss Texas, became the event’s 99th winner. She was the fourth Miss Texas to take the crown — and the first in 52 years.

What a night it was. Houston Arts Alliance knows how to party and what a party turned celebration it was Saturday when the nonprofit rejoiced in two decades of strengthening the Bayou City’s creative ecosystem through public/private partnerships with a “Gilded & Golden” gala theme.

A native Texan and lifelong dancer, Regan Hutsell was recently crowned Miss America 2027 in Palm Beach, Florida earlier this month. Her journey to the national title reflects years of dedication to dance, performance, and personal development, culminating in one of the most significant achievements of her career.
