Chloe Burke Named Winner of Go Red® for Women “Heart of the Advocate” Scholarship Award

FEBRUARY 25, 2025 – The Miss America’s Scholarship Foundation (MASF) is proud to announce Chloe Burke as the recipient of the prestigious “Heart of the Advocate” Scholarship Award, presented in collaboration with the American Heart Association’s® Go Red for Women® initiative. This $10,000 scholarship is designed to recognize a young woman who demonstrates a passion for heart health in her community through leadership, service, and a strong commitment to advocacy.

Burke is a heart disease survivor, elementary school teacher, and author of the children’s book Keys to Your H.E.A.R.T., which promotes heart-healthy habits. She has also raised over $100,000 for life-saving medical research through partnerships with Houston-area businesses and was honored as the American Heart Association’s Houston 2023 Woman of Impact, receiving its 2023 Volunteer & Advocate Award.

“My journey from becoming a collegiate athlete to surviving a life-threatening heart condition and surgery where I almost lost my life on an operating table has shaped my passion for advocating for women’s heart health. Through my work with the American Heart Association, I’ve seen the transformative power of education and advocacy. I am committed to continuing this work, inspiring others to take action, and working toward a future where heart disease no longer holds the power to take women’s lives too soon,” Burke says.

Applicants for the Heart of the Advocate Scholarship Award completed a comprehensive online application. Eligible candidates included local and state contestants from the most recent competition cycle, who have actively championed the mission of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement.

The application process required an original essay, a 90-second video statement, and a letter of recommendation. The 2024 Go Red for Women Class of Survivors—a diverse sisterhood of national volunteers passionately advocating for heart health—reviewed the applications and evaluated candidates based on their alignment with the Association’s mission, as well as each candidate’s leadership and advocacy efforts.

The Miss America’s Scholarship Foundation congratulates Chloe Burke on this well-earned achievement. Her work serves as an inspiration to others striving to create a healthier future for women everywhere.
