[AUBURN, AL] February 20, 2025 – Auburn University honored Miss America 2025 Abbie Stockard with a special homecoming event and an official proclamation from the City of Auburn declaring February 20 as ‘Abbie Stockard Day.’ Auburn Mayor Ron Anders made the announcement during a special ceremony at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center, where city leaders, university officials, and community supporters gathered to honor Stockard’s remarkable accomplishments.
The homecoming festivities paid tribute to Stockard, an Auburn University senior and the fourth Miss Alabama to claim the prestigious Miss America title. Special events included recognition at the Auburn vs. Arkansas men’s basketball game, where Stockard joined her Tiger Paws Dance Team on the court, served as the celebrity letter holder, and participated in a halftime interview on the Auburn Radio Show. The celebration continued with a meet-and-greet breakfast at Auburn’s College of Nursing, where Stockard—a nursing student herself—shared her inspiring journey and aspirations with students and faculty.
Stockard also enjoyed a special tour of Samford Hall’s historic Clock Tower, where she signed her name alongside other Auburn luminaries. The celebration culminated in a reception at Jordan-Hare Stadium’s Harbert Family Recruiting Center, hosted by her Alpha Gamma Delta sorority sisters.
