[NASHVILLE, TN] October 22, 2025 — Miss America 2026 Cassie Donegan returned to Belmont University, where she previously studied as a BFA student, to inspire current students and share her journey from musical theatre student to Miss America.
During the event, Convo Hour, she spoke candidly about her experiences as a professional performer, the lessons she learned as a Belmont student, and her platform as Miss America supporting arts education. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, gain insights on leadership and community service, and find motivation for pursuing their own artistic and professional goals. Cassie closed the event with a rendition of “What Baking Can Do” from the Broadway musical Waitress.
The conversation was moderated by Jo Lynn Burks, Musical Theatre and Commercial Voice Instructor in Belmont’s College of Music & Performing Arts, who remains Cassie’s vocal coach and longtime friend.
Cassie’s dedication to highlighting the importance of arts education and mentorship continues to shine. Wherever she goes, she shares her commitment to encouraging young artists to pursue excellence, embrace their creativity, and lead with purpose.
