WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Miss America Organization has announced that its historic pageant will take place in West Palm Beach this year, running from Aug. 28 through Sept. 6, with events hosted across downtown venues.
The competition will be held at the Kravis Center, the Palm Beach County Convention Center, and the Hilton West Palm Beach. Officials with Discover the Palm Beaches said the annual event is expected to attract thousands of visitors and generate millions of dollars in economic impact for local businesses.
“Having Miss America in West Palm Beach and at the Palm Beach is key, number one. It’s a testament that our destination is attracting iconic events like this one,” said Milton Segarra, CEO of Discover the Palm Beaches.
Miss America CEO Robin Fleming said the area met all the criteria the organization was looking for in a host city, including its facilities, restaurants, and shopping options.
“You have easy access to shopping, dining, the beaches, numerous cultural events, and of course, the Kravis Center is a world-class theater. And the Palm Beach Convention Center is state-of-the-art,” Fleming said.
This year’s event marks the 105th anniversary of the Miss America pageant. For most of its history, the competition was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, before moving to other cities in recent years.
Miss Florida 2023 Juliette Valle said the Palm Beaches bring the energy and prestige that align with the historic competition.
“Miss America is an iconic institution, and to have it in South Florida is just so unbelievably glamorous, because Palm Beach is just a destination where I think anyone in the country will want to go,” Valle said.
The pageant is planned to be held in West Palm Beach for three years.
