[WEST PALM BEACH, FL] August 17, 2026 – The Miss America Organization is proud to announce that more than $300,000 in tuition scholarships will be awarded at the upcoming Miss America and Miss America’s Teen National Competitions this September in West Palm Beach, Florida. These scholarships continue a tradition that has been central to Miss America for decades: investing in women’s education and the leaders they will become.
Miss America has empowered women to lead with purpose since its founding in 1921. This September, 104 state ambassadors will arrive in West Palm Beach not simply as titleholders, but as advocates, entrepreneurs, artists, students, philanthropists, young professionals, and emerging leaders making an impact in communities nationwide.
At the National Competition, the Quality of Life Awards will once again recognize delegates whose service initiatives demonstrate exceptional leadership and meaningful community impact—celebrating women who are turning personal passions into purpose and transforming their platforms into action.
Miss America’s commitment to education dates back to 1945, when the organization began awarding academic scholarships under National Executive Director Lenora Slaughter. That investment grew into the nation’s largest tuition-scholarship program for women, with millions of dollars awarded through national and state-level programs, nonprofit foundations, trusts, and philanthropic partners.
In 2023, Miss America’s Scholarship Foundation, Inc. became the official 501(c)(3) nonprofit responsible for administering scholarships nationally, further strengthening the organization’s commitment to expanding educational opportunity for women.
As Miss America prepares to crown its 99th Miss America in just a few short weeks, its commitment to education and service remains stronger than ever. This September, more than $300,000 in tuition scholarships will provide delegates with meaningful support as they pursue their education and continue making an impact in communities across America.
