The next Miss America is just months away from being crowned.
The storied pageant organization officially announced that West Palm Beach has been selected as the host city for Miss America 2027, and the winner will be crowned on Sept. 6, 2026. Delegates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands will take the stage at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
Miss America confirmed the time and location of the upcoming internationally streamed event on Thursday, May 7, during Discover The Palm Beaches’ annual Travel Rally Day, held in conjunction with National Travel & Tourism Week.
Current reigning 2026 titleholder Cassie Donegan is set to crown her successor, who is set to be the 99th woman to become Miss America. Donegan tells PEOPLE exclusively that she “could not be more excited” about the announcement.
“After spending so much time in this community this year and being in the midst of its philanthropy, I can say there is such an energy, vibrancy, and sense of possibility that is reminiscent of where Miss America is headed,” says Donegan, 28, who was crowned on Sept. 7, 2025 in Orlando, Fla., a few months after she won the New York state pageant.
The seasoned pageant queen, 28, was awarded a crown, sash, $50,000 in tuition scholarship and a year of incredible opportunities. The actress and singer previously told PEOPLE she’s been able to tap her passion for performing during events she’s attended in the eight months since her win. On Feb. 12, she performed the national anthem at the America 250 Florida Duel at Daytona.
Speaking to the latest news about where she will crown her successor, Donegan adds, “The Miss America Opportunity has always been rooted in purpose, service, and empowering young women, and I believe this is another step in the exciting momentum for the future of the program. I cannot wait for the Palm Beaches community to experience the magic of Miss America firsthand.”
Per a press release issued by the organization, the choice to bring the pageant to West Palm Beach speaks to a new chapter for the competition, which will commemorate 105 years of Miss America this year.
“It feels especially meaningful to announce this powerful next step for Miss America,” said Robin Fleming, CEO of the Miss America Organization, as quoted in the release. “The Palm Beaches represent vision, momentum, and possibility, a place where women’s voices, ambition, and achievement can take center stage.”
