[WASHINGTON, D.C.] April 28, 2026 — As Miss America continues its nationwide efforts to commemorate the United States’ 250th anniversary, the organization is proud to announce its latest major initiative: a national alliance with America250, the national, nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, marking America’s Semiquincentennial.
Building on a series of announcements and activations already underway, this partnership further solidifies Miss America’s role in shaping how communities across the country engage with this historic milestone. Together, Miss America and America250 will elevate the enduring values of service, leadership, and community, while inspiring Americans, particularly young women, to see themselves as active participants in the nation’s future.
As part of this alliance, Miss America ambassadors nationwide will take part in “Our American Story,” a year-long storytelling initiative capturing and preserving personal narratives from Americans of all backgrounds. These stories will contribute to a living archive of the American experience, with many ultimately housed in the Library of Congress and shared across film, broadcast, and digital platforms. Miss America will also contribute volunteer hours to America Gives, America250’s initiative to make 2026 a record setting year of volunteer service.
“Since 1921, Miss America has stood as an enduring symbol of opportunity, service, and leadership,” said Robin Fleming, CEO and Owner of the Miss America Organization. “Today, our mission is rooted in empowering women to lead with purpose and make meaningful impact in their communities. This partnership with America250 allows us to honor our shared history while elevating the voices that will define our nation’s future.”
“America’s 250th anniversary is an opportunity to inspire the next generation of leaders and elevate the voices that shape our nation’s future,” said Jen Condon, Executive Vice President at America250. “Miss America’s longstanding commitment to service, leadership, and community engagement makes this a meaningful partnership to help bring more Americans – especially young women – into the Semiquincentennial celebration.”
From a 250th Celebration Special Edition Sash to historic participation by all state and national ambassadors in the Salute to Independence Parade—and now, a national alliance with America250—Miss America continues to lead with purpose in the lead-up to the nation’s 250th anniversary. As this milestone approaches, the organization will further expand its national footprint through strategic partnerships and community-driven initiatives, ensuring that the celebration of America’s past is matched by a bold investment in its future.
