[NEW YORK, NY] November 17, 2025 — Miss America 2026, Cassie Donegan, took the stage at one of New York City’s most legendary music rooms for a show-stopping performance at Jim Caruso’s Cast Party at Birdland.
Since 1949, Birdland has been a cornerstone of New York’s music scene, born from the brilliance of Charlie “Bird” Parker and home to some of the greatest voices in jazz. Today, it remains a landmark of American music and a beloved stage for performers across genres.
Every Monday, Birdland’s legacy continues with Jim Caruso’s Cast Party, the dazzling open-mic spectacular where Broadway stars, jazz legends, and rising talent share the spotlight. Hosted by the incomparable Jim Caruso with musical mastermind Billy Stritch, the event has become an institution, touring internationally and earning honors including 13 BroadwayWorld Awards, 7 MAC Awards, a Bistro Award, and even a New York City proclamation of “Jim Caruso’s Cast Party Day.”
Amid this storied atmosphere, Cassie delivered one of the standout moments of the night.
In a powerful duet with Broadway star—and Miss America 1998—Kate Shindle, Cassie performed a thrilling rendition of “That’s Life.” Their vocals blended effortless musicality with undeniable star power, creating an electric tribute to the connection between Miss America and the performing arts.
Cassie was backed by an all-star trio of musicians: Tedd Firth, Steve Doyle, and Daniel Glass, whose masterful accompaniment elevated the performance into a true Birdland moment—dynamic, polished, and bursting with New York energy.
Her appearance at Cast Party showcased not only her remarkable vocal talent but also her commitment to the arts and advocacy for arts education nationwide. Sharing the stage with a Miss America alumna and Broadway icon added a special sense of legacy and celebration.
A night of music, community, and pure showbiz joy, Cassie Donegan’s Birdland debut was undeniably unforgettable.
