Miss America’s Run for the Roses: Abbie’s Unforgettable Week at the Kentucky Derby

[LOUISVILLE, KY] May 3, 2025 — Abbie Stockard, Miss America 2025, had an unforgettable week in Louisville, immersing herself in the excitement of the 151st Kentucky Derby while giving back to the community. One of the highlights was a special event with a group of Louisville 4th graders, organized by Global Game Changers, a proud partner of Miss America. Abbie teamed up with Heather French Henry, Miss America 2000, and Mallory Jones, Miss Kentucky’s Teen 2024. Together, they inspired the young students to embrace their individual superpowers and adopt healthy living habits, empowering them to reach their full potential.

On Oaks morning, Abbie visited the backside of Churchill Downs, where she experienced the behind-the-scenes energy of the Derby, connecting with trainers, jockeys, and horses ahead of the big race. Later, she had the honor of placing a lily on the garland of lilies for the Oaks winner —a beautiful tradition that symbolizes the grace and strength of the race’s champion. Abbie attended the thrilling Oaks race, followed by the star-studded Unbridled Eve Derby Gala, where she mingled with VIPs and celebrated the spirit of the Derby.

The week culminated with the 151st Kentucky Derby itself, where Abbie joined the excitement of “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports.” With glamour, grace, and a heart full of purpose, Abbie made her mark on one of the most iconic events in sports, blending charity, tradition, and celebration into a truly memorable week.
