| May 4 - City of Southfield 50th Anniversary Celebration |  | On May 4th Miss America attended the City of Southfield 50th Anniversary Community Celebration. Mayor Brenda L. Lawrence welcomed Kirsten to the Celebration where she entertained the audience singing "Over the Rainbow" and signed autographs at this family event.

| May 3 - Linden Oaks at Edwards Mental Health Fair |  | Miss America attended the Linden Oaks at Edwards “Happy Hearts, Healthy Minds” Mental Health Fair on May 3rd. Whlie she was there she made two new furry friends from Linden Oak’s Animal Assisted Therapy Program. | | |

| April 28 - Philadelphia Soul Arena Football Game |  | On April 28th, Kirsten Haglund was in Philadelphia to sing the National Anthem at the Philadelphia Soul game. After the game she posed for a picture with Tony Graziani, the Quarter Back for the Soul. | | |
| April 26 - Washington Correspondents' Dinner |  | Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund attended the Washington Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton on Saturday, April 26. | | |

| April 12- Cherry Blossom Festival Parade |  | Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund took part in the 2008 Parade of the National Cherry Blossom Festival and sang "Over the Rainbow" on a float as it traveled along Constitution Avenue, passing the Washington Monument and The White House.

| April 9-10 - Eating Disorders Coalition |  | Kirsten joined over 100 citizens to participate in the EDC’s Lobby Day on Capitol Hill to deliver a message for the need for legislation for Eating Disorders and the FREED Act was introduced.

| April 6 - Honda Grand Prix |  | “Lady and Gentlemen start your engines” is the command that Kirsten Haglund gave for the start of one of the most thrilling events in sports racing that was televised nationally on ESPN. Kirsten served as the Grand Marshal for the 2008 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Florida. | | |
| April 3 - iaedp Symposium | Kirsten spoke to over 400 clinicians and professionals at the iaedp Awards Banquet and Opening General Session about her experience and recovery from anorexia. The Symposium offered high level training to professionals who work with patients suffering from eating disorders.

| March 31 - Detroit Tigers Home Opener |  | Kirsten Haglund threw out the ceremonial pitch at the MLB home opener for the Detroit Tigers in front of a sold out crowd. Kirsten then performed the National Anthem and during the 7th inning stretch, sang “God Bless America” to celebrate Opening Day at Comerica Park. | | |
| March 17-18- Champions Across America |  | On Monday, Kirsten and the CMN Miracle Kids traveled to the White House to have a very special meeting with the President of the United States, George W. Bush. It was an extraordinary event and the media was present to capture the moment. | | |
| March 12-15- Children's Miracle Network Celebration |  | The celebration for Children's Miracle Network began in Orlando marking the 25th anniversary of the organization. This annual celebration kicked off with Miss America meeting children from across the country who are champions in fighting life threatening illnesses and who have faced the most challenging health issues and have emerged as our heroes. | | |
| March 11 – Harris Center for Education and Advocacy of Eating Disorders |  | Kirsten spoke at the Harris Center, located in Boston, at their annual public forum entitled, “Redefining Perfection: Beauty, Fashion and Body Image.” She also received a tour of Massachusetts General Hospital and conducted interviews and several local newspapers and television stations. | | |
| March 8 – Voices Take Flight |  | Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund co-hosted the Voices Take Flight fundraiser in Phoenix, Arizona, benefitting Alzheimer’s and ALS foundations. The Phoenix Boys Choir and the US Coast Guard Choir from New Groton, CT both performed. | | |
| March 6 – Opening Night “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” |  | Kirsten had the wonderful opportunity to attend the opening night of the Broadway production, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.” The show is being directed by former Miss America Judge, Debbie Allen and stars, Phylicia Rashad, James Earl Jones and Terrence Howard, among others. Besides the watching the performance, Kirsten walked the red carpet and attended the exclusive after-party. | | |
| March 5 – DeVos Children’s Hospital |  | Kirsten visited the DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. She met with patients, shared her story and signed autographs. Kirsten was thrilled to be visiting the hospital for the first time as the Goodwill Ambassador for CMN. | | |
| March 3 – Thunder 94.5 Radio Show |  | While in Michigan, Kirsten stopped by Thunder 94.5 and co-hosted an hour of the “Scrubs in the Morning” show. Kirsten is a lover of all types of music, and was thrilled to be able to spend the hour talking about becoming Miss America, her personal platform and her travels. | | |
| March 2 – HOPE |  | Kirsten filmed a special message for Miracle Camp, a camp in Lawton, MI where over 150 teens will gather for a weekend retreat. Kirsten’s message to the teens, and to teens across the country, is that inner beauty is the true beauty and to always have a positive self-image. | | |
| February 29-March 1 - HOMECOMING |  | Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund was welcomed home with a Michigan Homecoming like no other. Kirsten arrived to the celebration via horse-drawn carriage. About 800 family, friends and fans turned out to see Kirsten and several other 2008 Miss America Contestants perform. Along with singing ‘Over the Rainbow,’ Kirsten also had the opportunity to perform with both her father and brother. | | |
