My Motivation: I am incredibly goal driven and motivated by my desire to never become complacent.

My Defining Moment: The experience of traveling to another country on my own helped define who I am as a person by teaching me the value of taking the path less traveled.

Bio: In 1921, the Miss America Competition was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey and 72 years later, Kaitlyn Schoeffel was born in the exact same city. Kaitlyn has been a part of the Miss America Organization for the past 10 years. In 2007, she held the title of Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen. Kaitlyn is a passionate advocate for the arts. Through her platform, “Operation Empowerment,” she provides children an equal opportunity to be exposed to the arts. Kaitlyn has developed relationships with community theaters across the state of New Jersey to sponsor tickets for children to see live theater productions. She also provides scholarships to students to participate in dance, voice, and acting lessons.
